This time we will focus on the first floor of the Met, and travel all the way back to ancient Greece and Roma, to dive into a time when art, myth, politics, and philosophy were deeply intertwined. From statues, jewelries, and potteries, We will see how ancient Greek and ancient roman people imagine the gods, understand the human body, and build their ideas of virtue, honor, and community. Let’s merge into an familier-and-unfamilier space, get lost in time, to explore the birthplace of Western civilizations. The program will include three 30-minute conversations, with participants divided into groups of 3–4 for each session. Through structured prompts and brief introductions before each conversation, participants will be invited to engage with the artworks through philosophical reflection and personal interpretation.
