It tells the cherished memory of an unlikely childhood friendship forged in the jasmine-scented fields of rural Fujian, China — where a little girl bravely builds her inner world and discovers the true meaning of companionship against a backdrop of life’s realities and hardships. The 2026 Chores Collection creates a world inspired by this original story, passing it through the many eyes and hands of a family of artisans who have translated the story into a wealth of different mediums. From garments to poems, drawings to jewelry, teacups to lamps, and many more beyond — this year’s collection brings you into a world that is as intimate as it is vast, and as tender as it is human. — A very special thank you to Blue Pomelo Studio — our cherished collaborator and host of this year’s Chores exhibition. We are grateful for your immense hospitality, creativity, and shared love of functional, meaningful craft — thank you for bringing our world to life.
