***Mood Drills is a Brooklyn band working in a blend of alt-pop and art-rock. Their debut, When Will You Die, is an album about existential dread, the erosion of time, and the search for autonomy in a chaotic world. The tone is restless and unresolved: jagged, repetitive structures drive tracks like "Blue Heat" and "Pushed into Earth," while "Use Your Words," "Shoulder of Air," and "Borrower" open into something quieter and more haunted. The whole record plays like a life sentence that finds a strange beauty in digging its own grave.***
