Long time collaborators James Juke and Shanty Mane are diving deep into their record collections to pull out timeless treasures that your Shazam probably won't find (sorry not sorry). While James is fresh off an iconic set for Raw Cuts, Shanty Mane recently served up a masterclass is early tech house to a 1,000 crowd at a warehouse in DC. Cal: Cal Green aka Shanty Mane is the co-founder and creative force behind RAW CUTS and Window Seat. In the endless pursuit of knowledge and connection to the art form, Cal wears many hats in the scene and appreciates all of them. With ever-evolving taste and a broad respect for dance music, never come expecting to hear a particular sound. Just expect to be in good hands. James: A year abroad in Buenos Aires at 19 was his introduction to clubs. In the span of a month, sets from Folamour, Honey Dijon, and Dusky made it clear house music had infinite flavors and forms, and that understanding them was going to take time. Rooted in disco, soul, and the sampling lineage that connects early house to hip-hop, his sets move through jackin' vocal-driven grooves and raw, hypnotic tech house. He taught himself production alone during the pandemic, spent months getting feedback from Demuir, and that obsession has led to releases on Nervous, Robsoul, and Rek'd. He eventually released on Dusky’s label and received non-stop support from Folamour on his standout, “Vital Organ”.
