Mess Is Lore: Volume 5

Mess is Lore emerges from the wreckage of a sold out Volume 4, dragging New York's most unruly sounds for a heady and morose gathering at Silence Please. After a bone bending convergence at LSD, regretful news has filtered through the darkness. Not all who ventured to the outer limits made it back. Thus we must pay our strange respects to the lost. A sonic vigil will be held. The dirge becomes a roar. Drones collapse into one another, bagpipes keen in the fog, the unbearable weight of the unknown pressing down until sound becomes grief, becomes plague, becomes sound. This is a vigil for both the living and for the lost. A funeral march through the heaviest frequencies known to man. Mourn your cursed existence on this tiny rock called home. You'll have room for every sob and every silence ~ to wail, to convulse, to dissolve into the unbearable. Then emerge from the emotional sludge and bathe your soul in twisted frequencies of experimental Krautrock at the reception. Nobody will leave unaffected, the blessed emotion is contagious. We have gathered the city's most mournful minds to scatter the ashes: TONGUE DEPRESSOR [LIVE] PROACTIVE [LIVE] CARPET (F.L.H.P) [DJ] Tongue Depressor (New England, USA) is the duo of Zach Rowden and Henry Birdsey. They write and perform drone-based music with bagpipes, double bass, pedal steel/lap steel, tape loops, organs, harmonicas, and bells. They tour regularly in North America, Europe, and the UK. Proactive is the sonic aerobics of Oscar Henfrey (drums) and Braxton Marbury (bass). A planned improvised performance embracing the spirit of Kraut rock, long form development and physical tension. Make sure you stretch. Australian-born producer and visual artist and co-founder of Mess Is Lore, Carpet (F.L.H.P) opens the night with an all vinyl set of drone-heavy found sound. Bone rattling low end pressure that is sure to find solace in your own twisted soul. Email messislore222@gmail.com to join the procession.
