Two Chicagoans challenging the boundaries of electronic music helm The Sound Room tonight: 30,000AD’s hybrid sets fuse live hardware with DJ mixing, before sound artist and experimental composer Hieroglyphic Being pushes the evolving traditions of classic and acid house, industrial, and EBM. Fresh off her Honcho debut, maenad creates liberated dancefloors through euphoric disco, vocal house, and a timeless groove. A maverick figure, Physical Therapy’s DJing is dynamic and playful yet irresistibly thumping. Scott Zacharias arrives from Detroit. His selections sit in the outer limits of the North American underground, among the most vaunted of the left-field. - Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
