Founded in 2014 by Severja, Berlin’s Midgar Records aims to tell stories through dance. The label has released deep and psychedelic work from artists including Wata Igarashi, Polygonia, and Priori. Kamran Sadeghi opens The Sound Room with a DJ set. His creation of club music is sculptural and futuristic, fluctuating between avant-garde sound design and moody head-turners. Sliding across tempo scales, upsammy’s drum ‘n’ bass, colored by skittering halftime and IDM, shakes the room further. In The Atrium, Severja and Aion — book-ending OK EG’s live set — bring even more mental energy. The two share a taste for all things dark and deep, traversing techno, bass, broken beat, and ambient interludes, while the live set pressurizes with hazy, organic refractions. UPSTAIRS, meet Jacob Gorchov’s Palto Flats — a cult-status label that has unearthed hidden pop and experimental gems — and Joshua Cordova, whose work spans improvised and punk electronics. - Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
