Track Maintenance 11: Daniro, Kiernan Laveaux, Kweku, Roni

A Halloween amuse-bouche at a location to be announced day-of. The lineup features four selectors we’re really excited for: DANIRO is a dynamic and innovative visual artist, DJ and producer with a future-centered focus on the voices of underrepresented communities that are the pulse of contemporary electronic music, art, and culture. Her DJ sets are high energy and full of sensual passion as she easily weaves between ghetto tech, jungle, house, club, southern hiphop, and other genres, transporting you into her world and back. Daniro has played major NYC institutions like Nowadays but has also traveled the country to spread her sound to LA, Chicago, Miami, and more. Kweku is a DJ and organizer from Queens whose work traverses The Black Atlantic through music. His Ghanaian roots and New York City upbringing ground his flair for blending punchy club kicks with percussive riddims, weaving together the lively mixes of relentless drums that have moved dancefloors in both his homes of NYC and Accra. His party series Beats without Borders maps the connective threads of Black sound and Black life across the diaspora. He has a monthly show, Asanka Radio, on 8 Ball Radio. Roni is a New Yorker with a thirst for track-digging and a taste as eclectic as his home city; UK bass, DR reggaeton, Levantine dabke, Turkish pop, and soulful house are all staples of his varied, psychedelic, and impossible-to-pigeonhole sound. He is one-third of Track Maintenance. There’s not a lot we can reveal about the Secret Guest who will be joining us. What we can say for now is that she’s from the great Midwestern city of Cleveland and is one of our absolute favorite DJs. A true DJ’s DJ. We’re beyond excited to hear her on the ThirdRail Soundsystem.
