ABOUT THE INTERACTIVE JAZZ WORKSHOP Welcoming all instruments and experience levels! Join Greg Ruvolo's Big Band Collective to learn and explore big band section playing, soloing, arranging across styles, sight reading, listening and becoming a well-rounded, intentional big band player. Big band composing, arranging, and performing is a rare art form that has influenced much of the great music we enjoy in our daily lives. In today's musical landscape, it can be difficult to play or listen to the big band language in person. We're here to provide that space for you! FROM THE REHEARSAL ROOM TO THE STAGE How does one prepare for a performance and feel confident on the bandstand? Our goal as musicians is to turn the written page into a living performance the audience can experience and feel. Whether you're a high-school student, college musician, professional, educator, or simply a jazz lover, this two-hour workshop is designed to give you an inside look at how music is created in real time with some of NYC's most seasoned professionals.
