On Saturday, September 5th, legendary DJ and producer Tommie Sunshine takes over Dead Letter No. 9 alongside Amber Valentine and SPRFRK. A Midwest rave legend and longtime Brooklyn resident, Tommie Sunshine has spent decades fearlessly connecting the dots between house, electro, techno, rock, and everything in between. His influence runs deep through electronic music history. As a DJ, producer, remixer, songwriter, vocalist, radio host, and label owner, he’s collaborated with artists including Felix Da Housecat, LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, Arthur Baker, DJ Hell, and Mylo, while remixing everyone from Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Killers to Elvis Presley, Ladytron, and Avril Lavigne. Known for his infectious energy and unpredictable, genre-blurring sets, Tommie has played everywhere from underground clubs and international festivals to the Guggenheim Museum and events for Versace, Chanel, Raf Simons, and Jeremy Scott—always bringing a little chaos, plenty of personality, and a deep love of dance music to the floor. Catch him in CARGO 12:30AM-3:30AM. Opening CARGO is Amber Valentine, a DJ with over a decade of experience shaping dance floors across NYC and beyond. Rooted in dance, disco, house, and queer club culture, her sets are joyful, electric, and built around connection. She regularly plays at venues including House of Yes, Le Bain, Elsewhere, Gitano, and Gabriela, co-produces PAT with JD Samson, and runs Misster at The Woods, one of New York’s longest-running weekly dance parties. Holding down the Foyer all night long from 9PM–3AM is SPRFRK, a dance-floor-diva-turned-DJ and staple of New York’s underground queer rave scene. Originally from Miami, he’s known for a flamboyant, high-energy fusion of house, club anthems, and percussion designed to lift spirits and keep the room locked in. SPRFRK has held residencies at Metropolitan, Happyfun Hideaway, ANIMAL, and the long-running house and Italo disco party Scandalo NYC, while regularly appearing at venues including BASEMENT and Good Room. He’s also one-half of KNDYFRK alongside Kandylion, bringing a spirit of creativity, community, and unapologetic self-expression to every set. Venue opens at 5PM | Happy Hour 5PM-7PM | Music at 9PM Kitchen open late | 21+
