The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is getting an upgrade! Join the global community as we celebrate the latest MCP release with an evening of technical talks, community discussions, and networking. Whether you're already building with MCP or just starting to explore the ecosystem, this is an opportunity to learn what's new, meet other builders, and connect with the people shaping the future of AI interoperability. This event is part of a series of MCP Release Parties taking place simultaneously in cities around the world. What We'll Cover We'll explore what's new in the latest MCP release, hear from builders and contributors across the ecosystem, and discuss how the protocol is being adopted in real-world AI applications. Expect technical talks, community conversations, demos, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow developers. Agenda 17:30 — Doors open & networking 18:00 — Welcome 18:10 — MCP Release Overview :Stateless and the big changes in the new spec — Alex Hancock 18:40 — Ongoing lessons from operating the Datadog MCP Server — Scott Yak 19:10 — MCP And The Authorization Gap Nobody’s Closing — Michael Levan 19:55 — Community Q&A 20:30 — Networking Speakers Alex Hancock is a software engineer at Block and core maintainer of Goose, the open source AI agent governed by the Agentic AI Foundation. He maintains the official Rust SDK for MCP and has helped shape the protocol's evolution through work on agent interoperability, server discovery, and emerging capabilities like code mode and MCP Apps. Scott Yak is a Senior Software Engineer at Datadog, focused on evals for the Datadog MCP Server. Previously developed Tabular Foundation Models and contributed to a neural-network ensembling library at Google Research. Michael Levan is an AI Architect and Forward Deployed Engineer working with organizations worldwide on agentic strategy. Microsoft MVP, 4x published author, AAIF Ambassador, CNCF Ambassador, and a member of the Kubernetes v1.28 and v1.31 Release Teams. Who Should Come AI engineers, developers, founders, researchers, open source contributors, and anyone interested in the future of AI interoperability. Whether you're already building MCP servers and clients or simply curious about the protocol, you'll find people to learn from and connect with. About AAIF The Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) is a community dedicated to advancing the understanding and practical application of agentic AI. We bring together engineers, researchers, founders, builders, and AI enthusiasts to explore how autonomous AI systems are designed, evaluated, and deployed. Through reading groups, workshops, and community discussions, AAIF brings together engineers, researchers, founders, and AI enthusiasts to exchange ideas, challenge assumptions, and learn from one another.
