I think a lot of people are craving the same thing right now. A room where nobody is trying too hard. A place where artists can actually exhale. Somewhere you can show up alone and still feel welcomed. A night that feels alive, human, creative, and real again. That is what The Art Meetup: Say It Louder became. This Juneteenth edition brings together artists, musicians, poets, performers, photographers, designers, writers, and NYC locals for an afternoon of live music, open mic performances, creative expression, and community in Brooklyn. Built around the spirit of visibility, liberation, radical joy, and power to the people, this gathering is about creating space for Black creativity, local artists, and the people who keep culture alive in this city. Featuring some of NYC’s rising poets, musicians, rappers, singers, creatives, and performers alongside an open mic welcoming both first timers and established artists. A lot of people come alone. Nobody really stays alone for long. People meet collaborators here, friends here, dates here, creative partners here. Sometimes people just leave remembering they are not as alone as they thought they were. Last time the room stayed full for hours. Artists kept performing, strangers kept introducing themselves, and conversations continued long after the mic ended. This is not one of those awkward networking events where everybody pretends to be important. People actually talk here. Expect live performances, poetry, music, storytelling, conversations spilling across the room, artists sharing work, drinks, laughter, and the kind of warm energy that reminds you why people fall in love with New York in the first place. Some people will perform. Some people will just listen. Some people will leave inspired enough to finally start the thing they have been putting off for months. Either way you become part of the room. ✨ WHAT TO EXPECT * Open mic performances * Poetry, music, spoken word, comedy, and storytelling * Artists and performers from across NYC * Good conversations and real community energy * A welcoming atmosphere for people attending solo * Drinks, music, creativity, and connection This Juneteenth gathering is about expression, visibility, liberation, creativity, and making space for people to be seen out loud.
