On Friday the 13th, as sinister forces and ill omens gather in the dark, Jupiter Disco becomes a sanctuary protected by three sonic guardians. Across nine continuous hours, Zoë Hajara, ROCCO, and clit.HUB each take the altar for extended three-hour sets, using sound as a weapon and a shield to ward off the night’s evil spirits. Opening the portal, zoë hajara invokes warm African archival funk and disco to purify the air and fortify the spirit against the shadows. ROCCO then takes command with a driving, jacking armor of industrial rhythms, foundational house, and physical momentum to shatter any encroaching dread. Finally, clit.HUB leads the crowd in a high-energy, exorcistic conjure of afrotek, footwork, and polyrhythmic club, transforming total body movement—twerking, grinding, and yelling—into the ultimate ritual of protection until sunrise. When superstition takes hold and evil spirits roam on Friday the 13th, the dance floor becomes our only safe haven. This night, Jupiter Disco transforms into a nine-hour ritualistic sanctuary where three guides stand watch, using heavy bass, ancestral lineage, and raw physical momentum to keep the dark forces at bay. Across three extended three-hour sets, our guardians will lead the floor through a collective exorcism of fear, driving away bad omens through the unifying power of sound. THE GUIDES & LINEUP Zoë Hajara — The Purifier (7pm - 10pm) Opening the night and cleansing the space, NYC-based archival lover zoë hajara sets the protective perimeter with rare African records of funk, disco, and beyond. Centering African women’s self-expression and all things black and wonderful, her warm, lineage-rich selections act as a spiritual tonic—purifying the room and wrapping the crowd in light before the shadows lengthen. ROCCO — The Shield (10pm - 1am) As peak midnight approaches and malevolent energies press in, ROCCO (DJ, producer, and founder of the queer collective FIGA) steps up to fortify the floor. Delivering a driving, three-hour jacking set rooted in foundational American techno and house, ROCCO welds experimental textures and jagged industrial rhythms into an impenetrable shield of raw, direct physical momentum. Clit.hub — The Conjurer (1am - 4am) To banish the night’s last lingering curses, clit.HUB takes the booth for a high-energy closing spell. An NYC-based, Nigerian born and raised trans woman, her sound carves out a sacred home through techno, DnB, jungle, breakbeat, afrotek, footwork, and polyrhythm. Calling on slow twerking, grinding, body bopping, and cathartic yelling, she guides us through an ancestral exorcism that leaves only joy, safety, and release by dawn. __________ Jupiter Disco is a safe space for all. Our most important goal is to ensure everyone who steps into our space feels welcome and safe. In order to achieve this goal, it's mission critical that everyone approaches each other with respect. That means everyone. We are passionate about bringing people together and building connections between participants in and adjacent to our community. Go ahead and say hi to someone new while you're here with us! If you see or experience anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, please alert one of our team members and we will coordinate a resolution immediately. We encourage everyone to be present and interface with the physical elements around you while you're with us, so we ask that you please limit your phone use throughout the space. Phone screen and camera lights can also be distracting, so please be mindful of the brightness and the length of time you use those lights, if at all. If you intend to smoke (anything), please take a break outside and take a few steps down the block. Don't worry, we always have re-entry.
