Schedule: 4-6pm: Open Studios @ 56 Bogart, Studio 207 (map) 6-8pm: Afterparty @ Pine Box Rock Shop (map) -- About Alice: Alice Gong Xiaowen, born in 1994 in Beijing, China, now lives and works in New York, NY. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016 and an MFA in Sculpture from the Yale School of Art in 2025. Her sculptures and installations, often combining ready-made, sound, metal casting, and ephemeral materials, intentionally defamiliarize and recalibrate behaviors associated with customs and rituals, reconstructing identity and authenticity as lineages in flux. Xiaowen's work has been exhibited in solo and two-person exhibitions at Franz Kaka, Toronto (2025); Gallery Vacancy, Shanghai (2025); CHAMBER lower_cavity, Holyoke (2024); and House of Seiko, San Francisco (2023). Group exhibitions include: Romance, Pittsburgh (2025); Stilllife, New York (2024); Franz Kaka, Toronto (2024); Silke Lindner, New York (2023); and DUPLEX, New York (2022).
