Word Passed the Time - Charlotte Jacobs - Listening Session

An enigmatic slab of pitch-bent esoterica from Brooklyn-by-way-of-Belgium singer, songwriter, and composer Charlotte Jacobs. A single free-flowing, vocal-driven arrangement, “Word Passed the Time” unfolds with a patient, deliberate grace not far removed from the mutability of a contemporary dance performance. Jacobs builds with a tactile hand, weaving delicate synth textures into the rhythmic skeletons of her machines to create a hallucinatory uncertainty, all the while allowing her layered vocals to edge closer to some sort of avant-pop ’truth’. The sound of time, held and folding. Join us for an intimate listening session at Reforesters Laboratory
