"It's okay with me" is the signature, rumpled life motto of private investigator Philip Marlowe, played by Elliott Gould, in Robert Altman's 1973 revisionist film noir adaptation of The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler. Marlowe mumbles this at everyone and everything, including the murder he was framed for in Altman's depiction of 1970s Los Angeles.
