An immersive cultural program exploring New York City's nightlife as a living ecosystem of creativity, advocacy, identity, and community. Centered around the award-winning short documentary Ali's Story, the evening expands beyond a traditional film screening to create a shared experience through archival imagery, music, conversation, and collective storytelling. Every generation has inherited New York City nightlife. Every generation has reshaped it. This evening celebrates both. Curated by Ali Coleman New York City's nightlife has long been one of its most important cultural ecosystems. It is where music movements were born, where artists found community, where marginalized voices created spaces of belonging, where ideas became movements, and where generations of New Yorkers discovered creativity, freedom, and one another. Ali's Story: An Evening of Film, Conversation & Community - A Curated Cultural Experience An immersive cultural program exploring New York City's nightlife as a living ecosystem of creativity, advocacy, identity, and community. Centered around the award-winning short documentary Ali's Story, the evening expands beyond a traditional film screening to create a shared experience through archival imagery, music, conversation, and collective storytelling. Rather than looking nostalgically at New York City nightlife, the program celebrates its continuing evolution ... connecting the pioneers who shaped the city's cultural identity with the artists, organizers, advocates, and communities carrying that legacy forward today. This evening builds upon that legacy ... not by simply reflecting on the past, but by creating space for an ongoing conversation about where New York City nightlife has been, where it is today, and where it is headed next.
